- A passion for the sport, connecting and giving back to your community and building a positive working environment.
- A demonstrated ability to build a high performing team both on and off the field.

4. Resources
- The desire and resources to operate within USSF Soccer Division II, III and/ or IV minimum standards.
- Principal Owner with a minimum networth of $1M - $10M.
- Targeted ownership group with a combined minimum networth of $5M - $40M.
- Approximate initial investment range is between $100k and $250K.

    - MLDA League Office will contact you
    - Provide proof of assets
    - Complete background and credit check.

    2. Business Plan
    - Select open territory
    - Develop and submit business plan for review.

    3. Financial Review
    - Background and credit checks completed
    - Present business plan to MLDA League Office
    - Submit legal entity documentation for review
    - Financial review completed, based on business plan
    - If all criteria met, receive tentative membership approval.

    4. Member Approval and Press Release
    -Finalize & secure stadium and training facility agreements
    - Secure financing
    - Sign Membership Agreement
    - Begin to build your team
    - Coordinate Public Announcement and Press Release

    Ownership and Club Requirements

    Expansion Ownership Qualifications:

    • Preferred: 35% Principal Owner with a minimum net worth of $10M.
    • Preferred: Ownership group with a combined minimum net worth of $5M - $40M.
    • Required: All Owners with more than 10% equity shall have a minimum net worth of $1M.
    • Required: Proof of funds totaling $250K in liquid assets annually.
    • Required: Approximate initial investment range in year one: $100k to $250k

    Expansion Club Requirements:

    • Minimum of 1,000 seat stadium (high school stadiums not permitted)
    • Stadium Playing surfaces of 70 x 110 yards and FIFA approved
    • Champion is determined each year (seasonal or tournament)
    • 75% of all league’s teams must be based in the US
    • Coaches must hold USSF “A” coaching license (within two years of appointment)
